Off late, my weekends have involved long bike rides. I made this change after not having used the bike for over a year. On an overcast Sunday morning in December 2013. I dusted the bike off. I headed down to Beaconsfield Parade as I normally do, and made my way towards Princes Pier. I’ve photographed that location several times over, but am always drawn to it to see what else I can do with the location. As I headed in the general direction, the front Port Melbourne Lighthouse caught my eye. There was shower brewing, the wind was stiff, the light was low, and I had an ND400 filter handy… all of the elements allowed me to pull off this 6-second exposure at f/22 to capture this minimalist piece.
