The Sydney Harbour Bridge from the edge of Lavender Bay
The Coat Hanger is no stranger to being photographed. On any given day, and at any given time, you are guaranteed to see dozens of people capturing the memory of visiting this spot. Having been here several times, during my visit to Sydney in June 2014 to capture the Vivid Festival, I wanted to come away with a good daytime long exposure shot. This was taken from the edge of Lavender Bay, where it meets the promenade walkway in front of Luna Park. I shot this with my Canon 17-40mm lens, while using an ND400 stacked with an ND8 and an ND4 filter to allow me to expose for 30 seconds while shooting at f/22 on ISO100. Not too shabby, though next time, I might go for two ND400s and see what I might be able to achieve with the additional exposure time.
