San Francisco in Time Lapse - Debashis Talukdar

This short film was shot over a three day period during my trip to the United States in October 2014. It covers the Golden Gate Recreation Area and Muir Woods around San Francisco Bay. I would have loved to have spent more time capturing more of this amazing city, but alas, time was the commodity that I was short on. There will have to be another time!

This short film was made from 5,233 individually shot and post-processed frames using a Sony A7R and a Sony A6000 mirrorless camera. In the past, I had been shooting time-lapse footage with a Canon 5D Mark II, but weight and size became an issue. I’ve been very happy with the results from the Sony cameras, and given that this is something that I love doing, their weight and bulk (or lack thereof on both counts) have allowed me to enjoy doing what I love!

I had originally planned on using Train’s “Save Me San Francisco” as a backing track to this short film, but in the end, never got around to securing permission to using it, and just went with a royalty free track. That is not to say that it wasn’t the song that was stuck in my head when I was driving around this City by the Bay!
